Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol in Irvington, NJ. This position offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to take additional shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings.

Pay rate is $20.25 per hour. The role aims to provide reliable hours at a designated site, with opportunities to scale up hours to 40 per week.

Qualifications

• Prior customer service experience is preferred.
• Ability to perform security patrols and observe surroundings.
• Comfortable working with computer or tablet devices.
• Eligible to work in the United States; 18+ for unarmed roles, background check will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store personnel following security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random foot/vehicle patrols of retail areas and entrances.
• Respond to incidents calmly and follow site procedures during emergencies.
• Monitor access points to deter unauthorized entry and protect property.
• Document patrols and incidents and inform site management and responders as needed.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol in Irvington, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.25 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Fri: 04:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat: 04:00 PM - 10:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients, customers, and store personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of retail sales areas, entrances, parking areas, loading zones, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual activity and potential security-related concerns.
• Respond to incidents, customer disturbances, shoplifting-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site procedures.
• Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location to help deter unauthorized access, theft, and other security-related issues.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately and communicate relevant information to site management, Allied Universal leadership, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
