• Minimum 1 year of security-related experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check as required by law.
• Drug screen as permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Guest Services in Charleston, SC, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to clients, visitors, and employees at a financial institution reception area while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures and policies.
• Greet and screen visitors, verify identification and appointments, issue visitor credentials, and maintain accurate visitor and access records.
• Monitor access points, lobby activity, alarms, cameras, and other security‑related systems, reporting unusual activity or concerns according to established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following emergency response protocols when appropriate.
• Maintain a professional front desk presence, answer incoming calls, direct guests to appropriate personnel, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 1 year of security‑related experience is required.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
