Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Driver Patrol Access Control in Columbus, OH. The role offers flexible fixed shifts with the opportunity to pick up extra shifts via our scheduling platform and progression toward full-time hours.

Pay rate is $18.50 per hour. Responsibilities include customer service, patrols, access control, and incident reporting, with a six-month anchor shift and growth through our Perks Program.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to store associates, customers, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations calmly and professionally.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location.
• Monitor access points and observe activity, reporting concerns to leadership.
• Complete required incident reports and logs per site procedures.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Driver Patrol Access Control in Columbus, OH, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
• Sat: 11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to store associates, customers, and visitors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail location, including sales floors, entrances, stock areas, and perimeter areas.
• Monitor access points and observe activity for unusual conditions, reporting concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management as directed.
• Complete required incident reports, patrol logs, and other documentation in accordance with site‑specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
