Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Portal in Tampa, FL. The role offers fixed shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts, and a pay rate of $20.95 per hour.

You will work day shifts on Saturdays and maintain a consistent base schedule with anchor shifts, plus opportunities to earn more through the pick-up program. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, a TWIC credential, CPR/First Aid (preferred), and the ability to lift 20+ pounds.

Qualifications

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and vendors; follow site policies and emergency procedures.
• Monitor and verify access credentials; maintain logs and direct authorized personnel.
• Inspect vehicles, deliveries, and shipments per site procedures; report discrepancies.
• Respond calmly to incidents and document observations for site contacts and responders.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points and perimeters to deter unauthorized access.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and vendors by carrying out access‑control procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a maritime logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorized access, maintain visitor and vehicle logs, and direct authorized personnel to appropriate areas.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing vehicles, deliveries, and shipments in accordance with site procedures; report discrepancies or unauthorized activity to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and communicating relevant information to site contacts and emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, docks, loading areas, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security‑related concerns.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Portal in Tampa, FL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.95 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential issued by the Transportation Security Administration.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortably using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
