Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time Access Control Patrol in Atlantic City, NJ. The position offers fixed shifts with an option to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform and a pay rate of $16.00 per hour.

This role provides a flexible schedule with a base site commitment, opportunities to earn more, and a pathway toward full‑time hours up to 40 per week. Required background checks and licensing considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A security license is preferred.
• 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles; background check required.
• Drug screen may be required where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, and visitors and follow site procedures.
• Conduct regular unarmed patrols of common areas and perimeters to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access and verify visitors in line with site rules and maintain records.
• Respond calmly to incidents and alert appropriate personnel when needed.
• Report maintenance concerns and security hazards to site management.

Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control Patrol in Atlantic City, NJ, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeFri12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of residential common areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, entry points, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to the location, verify authorized visitors and vendors in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate visitor and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and emergency services when needed.
• Report observed maintenance concerns, suspicious activity, and security-related hazards to site management and Allied Universal leadership in accordance with established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
