Allied Universal in Hattiesburg, MS is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced to provide reliable, site-specific security and access-control procedures. This role offers fixed anchor shifts with six-month commitment and the flexibility to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Control in Hattiesburg, MS, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a food processing location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorized access, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and communicate access concerns to site leadership and/or Allied Universal supervision.
• Screen incoming and outgoing vehicles as directed, document deliveries and pickups, and help control access to designated receiving, shipping, and employee areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established site procedures and reporting observations promptly.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, perimeter locations, and other assigned areas to help deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements

• The ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• A Guard Card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
