• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and emergencies with calm, problem-solving approach; notify site contacts or emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, entry points, and perimeter to deter unauthorized access and report issues.
• Document daily activities and access concerns; communicate information to leadership and site representatives.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Assurance in Detroit, MI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 04:00 PM - 12:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, clergy, and vendors by carrying out access‑control procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at cultural institution locations.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and authorized access points; verify credentials, manage visitor entry, and maintain visitor logs in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of designated areas, entry points, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and report unusual conditions.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and access‑control concerns accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 2 years of law enforcement, military police, and/or corrections experience.
• Have at least 2 years of security‑related experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
