Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Access Control in Detroit, MI for a part-time, flexible schedule at an assigned site. The role offers reliable hours and opportunities to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform, with a pay rate of $18.68 per hour.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization for personnel, visitors, deliveries, and contractors entering the technology‑focused location.
• Issue, collect, and document visitor credentials and access‑related materials in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, escalating matters through established channels as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, common areas, and the property perimeter to help deter unauthorized access; working environments and conditions may vary by site.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Access Controlin Detroit, MI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.68 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeThur12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
