Job summary

Allied Universal in the United States is seeking a part-time Security Officer Enhanced Access Control to provide dependable hours at a fixed site, with opportunities to pick up extra shifts.

You will perform site security procedures, respond calmly to incidents, patrol facilities, monitor access points, and report observations to site leadership. A high school diploma and at least 1 year of security experience are required, plus a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

As a Security Officer Enhanced Access Controlin China, MI, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $16.40 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat11:00 PM - 07:00 AMSun11:00 PM - 07:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a utilities location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facility buildings, parking areas, access points, equipment areas, and the surrounding perimeter.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and report unusual activity or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document patrols, incidents, and observations accurately, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends.
• Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Must be available for last-minute shift scheduling.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
