Allied Universal in Detroit, MI is seeking a Security Officer / EMT for an oil refinery. You will monitor and patrol, deter security incidents, and respond to emergencies while delivering professional customer service in a dynamic industrial environment.

This full-time driving position requires EMT certification and a valid driver’s license; CPR and First Aid are preferred. You must be 18+ for unarmed roles, 21+ for armed roles, and have a high school diploma.

Job Description

As a Security Officer / EMT -Oil Refinery in Detroit, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal as a Security Officer supporting a chemical/petrochemical location. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to situations with professionalism, and deliver exceptional customer service and communication. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy. Pay Rate: $21.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to our clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility buildings, access points, process areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations; working environments and conditions may vary by client site.
• Monitor access control activities, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain required logs and reports in accordance with site-specific policies.
• Assist with compliance with facility emergency plans, including reporting hazards, supporting evacuations, and coordinating with site personnel and emergency responders as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess EMT certification.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
