Allied Universal is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for an Educational Facility in Pittsburgh, PA. You will monitor access points, screen visitors, and provide courteous customer service at an educational location, using screening equipment and following site policies.

Qualifications

• Driver's license required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Screen students, visitors, contractors, and deliveries per site access procedures; verify IDs and direct individuals to campus locations.
• Operate screening equipment and inspect bags as allowed by site policy; report prohibited items and access concerns.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with campus resources and responders.
• Conduct regular and random patrols to deter unauthorized access and identify concerns.

Pay Rate: $17.75 / Hour

• Mon: 05:45 PM - 12:15 AM
• Tue: 05:45 PM - 12:15 AM

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an educational location.
• Screen students, visitors, contractors, and deliveries in accordance with site-specific access procedures; verify identification and direct individuals to appropriate campus locations.
• Operate screening equipment and conduct bag or package inspections as permitted by site policy; report prohibited items, suspicious activity, and access concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, coordinating with campus resources and emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entry points, and surrounding areas to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements

• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
