Job summary

Allied Universal in Normal, IL is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer – Patrol Route Driver to protect our clients across automotive manufacturing locations. The role combines driving and on-site security duties, requiring a friendly, professional demeanor and strong situational awareness.

You will perform vehicle and foot patrols, verify access credentials, respond to incidents, and document activities for leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements may be required by state/local laws.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at an automotive location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns and critical situations following site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, parking areas and perimeter.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials per site procedures.
• Document patrol activities and communicate findings to leadership.

As a Patrol Officer at an automotive location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor assigned areas, and respond to security-related concerns. This primarily driving role offers opportunities to deliver exceptional customer service and clear communication while supporting a caring, agile, reliable, and innovative Allied Universal team that acts with integrity.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 05:30 AM - 02:00 PM
• Thur 09:30 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at an automotive manufacturing and operations location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating information through established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of manufacturing areas, parking lots, exterior grounds, access points, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Document patrol activities, incidents, observations, and policy violations accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
