Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Screening Metal Detection Security Officer for a distribution center in Nazareth, PA. This part-time role offers a $17.00/hour pay rate with a fixed schedule on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM.

As an Access Control Professional, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor activity, and deliver strong customer service while upholding site policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge management experience.
• Familiarity with alarm panels and security monitoring.
• Proficiency using computers or tablets for tasks.
• Previous customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience in loss prevention practices is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license for driving duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers and employees while following security procedures.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, log visitors and drivers, and control entry at the site.
• Observe traffic and loading areas, report unusual activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and document relevant details for follow-up.
• Conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter unauthorized access.

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

• Access Control/Badge Experience (B201): Candidates should have prior experience with access control systems and badge management to ensure security protocols are followed.

• Alarm Panel Experience (B202): Familiarity with alarm panel systems is essential for roles that involve security monitoring and response.

• Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204): Proficiency in using computers or tablets is required, as many tasks will involve digital tools and software.

• Customer Service Experience (B219): Candidates must demonstrate previous experience in customer service roles, showcasing their ability to interact positively with clients and customers.

• Loss Prevention (B210): Experience in loss prevention strategies and practices is necessary for positions focused on safeguarding company assets.

• Valid Driver's License - AU Driver Policy Requirements (C123): A valid driver’s license is required for roles that involve driving as part of the job responsibilities.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials and authorized entry, maintain visitor and driver logs, and support controlled access to the distribution location.
• Observe inbound and outbound vehicle traffic, delivery areas, loading docks, and employee entrances, reporting unusual activity or access concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and documenting relevant details.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of the business, perimeter, parking areas, and operational spaces to help deter unauthorized access and identify security‑related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
