Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer for a full-time evening shift at a chemical and petrochemical site in Illinois. The role involves customer service, enforcing site policies, responding to incidents, patrolling premises, and maintaining accurate logs in a dynamic, safety-focused environment.

You will work a consistent 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM schedule on four days per week, with opportunities for training and career growth within a leading security and facility services company.

Qualifications

• TSA-issued TWIC required.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must be 18+ (unarmed) or 21+ (armed).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check, drug screen, and licensing as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service and enforce site policies at a chemical and petrochemical location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, and other critical situations calmly following protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility areas and restricted zones.
• Monitor and report unusual activity and policy violations to site leadership.
• Maintain shift logs and incident reports per site requirements.

What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a chemical and petrochemical location.


• Respond to incidents, alarms, spills, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and notification procedures.


• Conduct regular and random patrols of facility areas, access points, perimeter locations, and restricted areas; working environments and conditions may vary by site.


• Monitor and report unusual activity, hazardous conditions, access-control concerns, and potential policy violations to appropriate site personnel and Allied Universal leadership.


• Maintain accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with site-specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess a TSA-issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential TWIC.


• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.


• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.


• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.


• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.


• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.


• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.


• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
