Job summary

Harvard Protection Services provides security and life safety services, employing officers responsible for professional customer-focused security. Officers greet visitors, monitor access, patrol assigned areas, and ensure compliance with policies while maintaining safety and order across client locations.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid security license or ability to obtain one, and reliable transportation.

Qualifications

• State or municipality mandated security officer licenses.
• Minimum High School Diploma, GED or the equivalent.
• Must have a security guard license or be able to obtain one within an acceptable period.
• Must have reliable means of communication and transportation.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills and neat and professional appearance.
• Write routine correspondence, including log entries and incident reporting.
• Previous contract security, law enforcement, military, or customer service experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional demeanor aiding customers, employees, visitors, and guests.
• Maintain a visible presence in the facility/building.
• Monitor the environment and detect suspicious/unsafe activity.
• Become familiar with incoming/outgoing traffic and know regulars.
• Greet customers and visitors professionally.
• Answer phones in a professional manner.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property.
• Enforce facility policies within role limits.
• Perform patrols on foot or by vehicle.
• Observe departing personnel to protect company property.
• Follow emergency action plans and procedures.
• Monitor alarms and systems.
• Prepare reports on accidents and incidents.
