Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Part Time Security Officer in Indianapolis, IN to help monitor access points, screen personnel and visitors, and report security concerns. You will provide customer service and maintain a secure environment at a logistics/distribution location.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and reporting security concerns.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and deliveries per site procedures.
• Inspect packages and shipments and report prohibited or suspicious items.
• Respond to incidents calmly and document observations.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas and perimeters.

Pay Rate: $17.22 / Hour

Job Schedule: DayTimeWed02:00 PM - 10:00 PMThur02:00 PM - 10:00 PMSun02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, and/or deliveries in accordance with site access‑control procedures.
• Inspect packages, parcels, and/or shipments as directed by site procedures and report prohibited or suspicious items to site leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner and document observations according to site requirements.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, loading docks, business operations, and perimeter locations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Loss Prevention experience is preferred.
• The ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
