Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Part-Time Security Officer in South Portland, ME. You’ll provide customer service, perform patrols, verify access, and respond to incidents while upholding site policies.

Eligible for part-time shifts with a focus on safety and service. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, suspicious activity, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report relevant details according to site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols throughout the location, including interior work areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, loading zones, and perimeter access points.
• Monitor entry and exit activity, verify credentials and/or visitor access as directed, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas.
• Observe the location for unusual conditions such as inventory concerns, damaged doors or gates, lighting issues, and/or other security-related hazards, and communicate findings to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

• Thur 02:00 AM - 10:00 AM
• Fri 02:00 AM - 10:00 AM

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
