Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is seeking a Part-Time Security Officer for a government location in New York, NY. You will provide customer service, monitor access, and respond to incidents, while patrolling assigned areas to deter unauthorized activity.

The role requires at least 6 months of security experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid security license is preferred. Schedule is Saturday and Sunday 1 PM–9 PM with pay rate of $18.87 per hour.

Qualifications

• 6 months of security-related experience or more.
• High school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• State, county, or city-issued security license preferred.
• Minimum age: 18 for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check in accordance with laws.
• Criminal histories considered per applicable laws.
• Drug screen where permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and agency personnel following site policies and, when needed, emergency response procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and access-control concerns calmly and per site protocols.
• Conduct regular/unarmed patrols of government buildings and adjacent areas to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances/exits and verify authorized access; report abnormalities or violations.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain activity logs and incident documentation.

As an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, report observations, and assist visitors and staff with professional communication and customer service. Job Schedule:

• Sat: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM
• Sun: 01:00 PM - 09:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and agency personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed foot and vehicle patrols of assigned government buildings, public areas, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and designated access points; verify authorized access and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain required activity logs, incident documentation, and communications with site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED, as required by the client.
• A state, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
