Job summary

Allied Universal, the leading security and facility services company in North America, offers a part-time Security Officer role on a Los Angeles campus. The position provides reliable hours, the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, and potential progression toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

The pay rate is $21.00 per hour, with a fixed shift scheduled 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Candidates need at least 6 months of security experience and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, and/or vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of commercial real estate common areas, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site-specific procedures, reporting irregularities or maintenance concerns.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation while communicating professionally with property management and Allied Universal leadership.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
