• Maintain an accurate visitor log and document security-related incidents and concerns.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating with campus personnel and responders as appropriate.
• Monitor the front desk area and report maintenance and access issues.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Visitor Check In in Philadelphia, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $17.25 / Hour

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor access to the educational facility, greet and screen visitors, verify credentials as required, and direct individuals to appropriate campus offices or locations.
• Maintain an accurate visitor log and document security‑related incidents, unusual activity, and policy concerns according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, communicating with campus personnel and emergency responders as appropriate.
• Monitor the front desk area and available communication systems, reporting maintenance concerns, access issues, and suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
