Job summary

The UMMC Police Department invites applications for a Security Officer - Campus Police who will guard, patrol, and monitor university premises on the Main Campus in Jackson. You will provide information, directions, and manage traffic on campus.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a valid US driver’s license (MS license within 30 days), and completing FEMA IC 100, 200, 700, 800 courses within 90 days of hire. This is a full-time, on-site security role.

Responsibilities

• Patrols assigned areas to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.

• Scrutinizes and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, unlocked security doors, and safety concerns.
• Provides information and directions to patients and visitors.
• Prepares applicable reports.
• Directs traffic and enforces motor vehicle operation and parking regulations.
