Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer Campus Access Control in Los Angeles, CA for a part-time, flexible schedule designed to provide reliable hours at a fixed site with opportunities to pick up additional shifts.

The role offers a pay rate of $21.00 per hour and requires meeting minimum qualifications such as viable license, high school diploma, and background check. You’ll perform access control, patrols, and customer service for a cultural institution.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A valid guard card or license is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, volunteers, and vendors at a cultural institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries, public spaces, event areas, offices, entrances, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity, reporting unusual conditions, facility issues, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports while providing courteous directions and assistance to guests.

Job Schedule:

DayTimeSat11:30 AM - 07:30 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
