Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced in Los Angeles, CA. The role offers fixed anchor shifts with a six-month commitment and the option to pick up additional shifts through our scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain multi-site experience.

Responsibilities include providing customer service to campus members, conducting routine patrols, responding to incidents, monitoring access points, and reporting to supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Guard Card/License preferred.
• Age 18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Licensing may be required by state/local laws.
• Valid driver's license for driving positions only.

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors and campus guests while enforcing security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence locations, parking, walkways and perimeters.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical calls, and critical situations calmly per site protocols and emergency services.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity, supporting authorized entry and reporting concerns.
• Prepare accurate reports and communicate with supervisors and Allied Universal team members about incidents and shift activities.

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence-adjacent locations, parking areas, walkways, and perimeter locations to help identify and report unusual conditions.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical calls, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site-specific protocols and contacting appropriate campus resources and/or emergency services.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity in assigned areas, helping to support authorized access and reporting access concerns or suspicious activity.
• Prepare accurate reports and maintain clear communication with supervisors, campus personnel, and Allied Universal team members regarding incidents, observations, and shift activities.

Minimum Requirements

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
