Allied Universal in Santa Ana, CA is hiring a part-time Security Officer with a focus on building access control for cultural institutions and related facilities. Qualifications

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Background check and drug screen will be conducted as required by law.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to visitors, members, staff, and vendors at a cultural institution by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout public galleries, collection areas, staff spaces, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual activity, hazards, and access concerns.
• Monitor visitor activity and support established rules for exhibits, collections, restricted areas, and facility access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, visitor concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following site-specific reporting and escalation procedures.
• Complete patrol logs, incident reports, and other required documentation accurately and promptly.

Minimum Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
