Allied Universal in Pasadena, CA seeks a Security Officer (Full Time Unarmed Mobile Presence) to patrol and protect cultural institutions and staff. You will maintain a visible security presence, assist visitors, and report incidents per site procedures.

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a cultural institution, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and provide welcoming customer service to visitors, staff, and guests. Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $19.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM
• Sun 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, volunteers, and members by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a cultural institution.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of buildings, entrances, gathering spaces, parking areas, and the surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and observe visitor activity, assisting with access control and directing guests to appropriate areas as needed.
• Document patrols, incidents, and noteworthy observations in accordance with site-specific procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card or license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
