Job summary

Allied Universal in Salt Lake City is seeking a part-time Security Officer to validate badges and safeguard clients across logistics and distribution settings. You will monitor sites, perform access control, respond to incidents, and maintain a visible security presence while delivering professional customer service.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

You will support access control activities, communicate professionally with employees and visitors, and provide outstanding customer service. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Respond to incidents, delivery-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, vehicle access points, docks, trailer yards, parking areas, and the business perimeter.
• Monitor access to the location and report unauthorized activity, suspicious behavior, and policy violations to appropriate site contacts.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and site leadership.

Minimum Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• X-ray screening experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
