Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking an armed Security Officer – Roving Patrol Driver in New London, NC. You will serve and safeguard clients at government locations, performing patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and reporting security concerns.

This full-time role requires a valid driver’s license; armed guard card and firearms permit are preferred. You will follow site procedures, respond to incidents, and coordinate with leadership and responders as needed.

Qualifications

• Background investigation required by law.

Job Description

Security Officer Armed Roving Patrol Driver in New London, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer at a government corrections location, you will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment through professional communication and prompt reporting of security-related concerns. What You’ll Do

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel at a government corrections location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned areas, building exteriors, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access to restricted areas, verify credentials as required, and document visitor, vehicle, and incident information in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain awareness of changing conditions throughout the location and communicate observations, hazards, and security-related concerns to site leadership and/or emergency responders.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• A valid firearms permit is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
