Qualifications

• Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge or an associate degree/60 college credits or police/corrections academy certificate.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and batons is preferred.
• A guard card or security license is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• State/county/city-issued security license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years old for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Background check will be conducted.
• Drug screen required where permitted by law.
• Participation in security training programs.
• Licensing may be required per state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public while following site-specific security procedures and access requirements.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, parking areas, perimeters, and surrounding grounds.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations calmly and professionally.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Honorable Discharge in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Security Officer supporting a government location, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns with professionalism. You will provide exceptional customer service, clear communication, and support for staff and visitors while upholding Allied Universal's values of agility, reliability, innovation, teamwork, care, and integrity.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $22.26 / Hour

Job Schedule:

This is a full-time position. You can expect to work a minimum of 30 hours per week. The schedule for this position has not been assigned yet. If you are selected to move forward, your schedule will be determined as you progress through the hiring, onboarding, and training process. Your manager will work with you to assign a schedule based on business needs before your start date.

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access requirements, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, parking areas, perimeter locations, and surrounding grounds, reporting unusual conditions or policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following applicable site procedures and escalation protocols.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with assigned post orders, helping to deter unauthorized access and prohibited activity.
• Prepare clear and timely incident reports, patrol logs, and other required documentation, and communicate relevant information to supervisors and public agency representatives.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a DD214 with an honorable discharge, an associate degree or 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and batons is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Handcuffing certification is preferred.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
