• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Background check and drug screen as required.
• Licensing requirements per state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access control requirements, and emergency response.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations following post orders and escalation protocols.
• Conduct armed patrols of facilities, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and utility infrastructure to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor and report security-related conditions involving gates, fencing, lighting, vehicles, equipment, and restricted areas.
• Maintain professional communication with site personnel, visitors, contractors, and public service agencies.

As a Security Officer Armed Enhanced Part Time Patrol Driver in Birmingham, AL, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $20.00 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon: 09:00 AM - 07:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, access control requirements, and emergency response activities at a utility operations location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, unauthorized access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of facilities, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and utility infrastructure to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor and report security‑related conditions involving gates, fencing, lighting, vehicles, equipment, and restricted areas, documenting observations in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain professional communication with site personnel, visitors, contractors, and public service agencies while following applicable armed officer policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Possess a concealed carry weapons permit.
• Have at least one year of security‑related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Have at least six months of armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
