As an Armed Screener supporting a government location, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening individuals and belongings, monitoring access points, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while helping to deter incidents. Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $22.85 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM
• Sun 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and security-related policies at a government location.
• Screen individuals and their belongings using screening equipment and established procedures, identifying prohibited or unauthorized items and reporting concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Verify access credentials, direct visitors to appropriate areas, and maintain orderly entry points in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following emergency response procedures and communicating observations promptly.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry areas, surrounding grounds, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree in criminal justice.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Preferred: Ability to lift more than 20 pounds.
• Preferred: Customer service experience.
• Preferred: Possess a state, county, or city-issued security-related license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
