Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations calmly, documenting details and communicating with site contacts or local authorities as needed.
• Conduct regular armed patrols throughout galleries, exhibit spaces, public areas, entry points, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized access and security concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials where required, and observe visitor movement to deter policy violations and protect property.
• Support opening and closing activities, assist with crowd management during events, and report maintenance or security issues to appropriate personnel.

As a Security Officer Armed Flex Building Access Control in Santa Ana, CA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking up additional shifts when it works for you.

$30.50 / Hour

Mon: 12:00 PM - 08:30 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
• Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts and/or local authorities as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout galleries, exhibit spaces, public areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials where required, and observe visitor movement around restricted and public areas to help deter policy violations and protect valuable collections and property.
• Support opening and closing activities, assist with crowd and queue management during events and peak attendance periods, and report maintenance, life‑threatening, and/or security‑related issues to appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements

• An armed guard card/license is required.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
