Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and vendors at a government location by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorized access, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and following established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and the perimeter to deter unauthorized activity.

Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Entry Control in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an Armed Access Control Officer at a government location, you will help maintain a secure environment by monitoring entry points, verifying credentials, controlling access, and responding to security-related incidents. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and personnel, and use sound judgment in a dynamic setting. Pay Rate: $18.84 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and vendors at a government location by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorized access, issue visitor passes as directed, and maintain accurate access-related records.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and following established procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Possess a college degree.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Comfortably use a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
