Job summary

Allied Universal is hiring a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced in Reno, NV. The role focuses on providing reliable security services with a fixed anchor shift and opportunities to pick up extra shifts through the Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program.

Candidates should have an armed guard card, at least 6 months of security experience, and be 21 or older. Role includes customer service at government sites and routine incident reporting; driving positions require a valid license.

Qualifications

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation per laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories per laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements depend on state/local laws.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and the public at a government location by following security procedures and policies.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations, reporting and escalating as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking areas, and perimeters.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization, and report unusual conditions.
• Prepare clear activity and incident reports and coordinate with site representatives, law enforcement, and responders.

As a Security Officer Armed Enhanced Part Time Incident Reporting in Reno, NV, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $26.15 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Tue 11:00 AM - 03:00 PM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public at a government location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, public areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization as directed, and report unusual conditions or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate activity and incident reports and maintain professional communication with site representatives, law enforcement, and emergency responders as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Possess an armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Be comfortable using a computer or tablet preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
