Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents and alarms in a calm, professional manner following procedures and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Monitor access points and verify authorization to restricted areas.
• Prepare clear reports of patrols, incidents, and observations in accordance with Allied Universal requirements.

As a Armed Security Officer - Part Time in Reno, NV, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $26.15 / Hour Job Schedule:

Mon 11:00 PM - 05:00 AM

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment ("Anchor Shifts"): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It's all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site‑specific procedures, access‑control requirements, and emergency response activities at a government location.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established procedures and notifying appropriate personnel or public agencies as needed.
• Monitor access points and help maintain controlled entry to restricted areas by verifying authorization, observing visitor activity, and documenting relevant information.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of patrols, incidents, observations, and other security‑related activities in accordance with site and Allied Universal requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

• Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
