Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and the public at a government facility while following security procedures.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, grounds, and entrances to deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points, verify authorization, and report suspicious activity per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with site contacts and emergency services when needed.
• Prepare daily activity reports and maintain required qualifications and equipment in line with laws and policy.

As a Security Officer Armed Enhanced Part Time Patrol Operations in Richmond, VA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

Job Schedule

• Thur: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM

How This Role Works

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and members of the public at a government facility while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of government buildings, grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorization for entry, and report suspicious activity, prohibited items, and policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, coordinating with appropriate site contacts and public emergency services when needed.
• Prepare accurate daily activity reports and incident documentation, and maintain required qualifications and equipment in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and Allied Universal policies.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
