Job summary

Securitas, Inc. is seeking a Security Officer — Full Time at our DeKalb, IL site. The role involves patrolling premises, monitoring systems, controlling access, and responding to emergencies to keep people and property safe.

No prior experience is required; training is provided. You must be 18+ with a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and strong tech skills. You will work independently and support a vigilant security team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license and clear driving record required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Prior Security, Law Enforcement or Military experience a plus!!
• Must be able to work independently and provide excellent customer service.
• Must have the ability to remain calm under pressure and vigilant during shift.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgement and escalation.

Responsibilities

• Perform access control for inbound and outbound trucks at security gate.
• Keep active log of all trucks entering and exiting the facility.
• Maintain a secure environment that protects employees, customers, and visitors from harm.
• Respond effectively to emergencies and security incidents to minimize risk and damage.
• Uphold company policies, safety regulations, and legal compliance standards.
• Protect sensitive information and intellectual property from unauthorized access.
• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Conduct regular patrols of premises including buildings, parking lots, and entry points to identify potential security risks.
• Monitor and operate surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and security equipment.
