Job summary

Allied Universal, a leading security and facility services company, is seeking a part-time Security Officer - Access Verification in Columbia, SC. You will manage site entry, verify credentials, monitor access points, and respond to security concerns while delivering excellent customer service.

Responsibilities include patrolling access areas, maintaining logs, and following site procedures. Minimum 1 year security experience and high school diploma required; background check and drug screen

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a chemical manufacturing location.
• Monitor and control access points by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and contractor entry, issuing access materials, and following established entry procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and emergency responders as directed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access areas, business operations, parking areas, and perimeter locations, reporting unusual conditions and potential hazards.
• Maintain accurate activity logs, access-control records, and incident documentation in accordance with site requirements and Allied Universal procedures.

What You'll Do:

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
