Job summary

Allied Universal, North America’s leading security and facility services company, seeks a Security Officer - Access Validator in Phoenix, AZ to monitor entry points, verify credentials, and provide customer service to employees and visitors at a technology‑focused site.

You will conduct patrols, respond to incidents, and maintain access records in line with site procedures, supporting a secure, welcoming environment for staff and guests.

Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Guard card/license preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen may apply by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel via access control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor entry/exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue passes and maintain access records.
• Respond to access incidents, alarms and critical situations with calm, solving problems and escalating as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas to deter unauthorized access and identify concerns.
• Support protection of technology assets by following access protocols and reporting violations.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $20.73 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Mon 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thur 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Fri 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sat 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sun 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out access control procedures, site‑specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology‑focused location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, issue visitor passes, and maintain accurate access‑related records in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access‑related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security‑related concerns.
• Support the protection of technology assets, data center areas, and restricted spaces by following established access protocols and reporting policy violations or unusual activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• A guard card/license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
