Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Access Entry in Columbia, SC to safeguard clients and support residents and guests at a residential location. You will manage access control, monitor entry activity, and provide professional customer service while maintaining logs and reporting security concerns.

This full-time role requires 18+ (21+ for armed), a high school diploma, and the ability to pass background checks and a drug screen. Training and growth opportunities are offered.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, and visitors by following access control procedures and site policies.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identities and authorization to deter unauthorized access.
• Respond to incidents, alarms and critical situations calmly and report concerns to management or responders.
• Conduct regular patrols of residential areas, amenities, parking, and perimeter locations.
• Assist with visitor management, package procedures, and resident inquiries with accurate logs.

As a Security Officer Access Entry in Columbia, SC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. In this visible role, you will help to deter security-related incidents, respond to site needs, and use teamwork, integrity, and reliability to create a welcoming experience each day.

Position Type: Full Time

Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule: Monday–Friday 11:30 PM - 07:30 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or visitors by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify identity and/or authorization for residents, guests, deliveries, and/or vendors, and help to deter unauthorized access to the location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting security‑related concerns and communicating with property management and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout residential common areas, amenities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to identify and report security‑related issues.
• Assist with visitor management, package and delivery procedures, and resident inquiries while maintaining accurate logs, reports, and other access‑related records.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
