Job summary

Allied Universal in Bronx, NY seeks a Part-Time Security Officer (Access Control Reception) to safeguard clients and manage entry points using badges and credentials.

You will document security activity, monitor access points, respond to incidents, and deliver courteous service to employees and visitors. You will use computer or tablet systems to log events and support site procedures. Shifts include Wed, Thu, Sat 12:00 AM–08:00 AM with pay ranging from $18.30 to $19.30 per hour.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience preferred.
• Guard card/license preferred.
• Access control/badge experience preferred.
• Must be 18+ (21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and drug screen required.
• Driver's license required for driving roles only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and vendors at a utility location following access-control procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials and visitor documentation before entry to restricted areas.
• Maintain access-control logs and issue/recover visitor badges or credentials; report discrepancies.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations; notify appropriate personnel and document activities.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, buildings, and perimeter areas to deter unauthorized activity.

Pay Rate: $18.30 - $19.30 / Hour

• Thur 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sat 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or vendors at a utility location by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, authorization, and visitor documentation before permitting entry to restricted areas.
• Maintain accurate access-control logs, issue and recover visitor badges or credentials, and report discrepancies according to site procedures.
• Respond to incidents, access-control alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned access points, buildings, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At this site there are limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets and rustic guard shacks.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
