Job summary

Allied Universal in Hueytown, AL is seeking a Security Officer Access Control Specialist to manage entry points, verify credentials, issue badges, and maintain access records. You will monitor systems, assist employees and visitors, and uphold a welcoming, secure environment.

The role requires working a rotating schedule with 11:00 PM–7:00 AM shifts and a background check. A high school diploma is required and driving positions may need a valid license. Base pay is $16.00 per hour.

• Comfort using computer or tablet devices for monitoring and record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors while following security procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and manage visitor registrations and authorization.
• Document visitor, contractor, and delivery access and maintain logs per site procedures.
• Respond to incidents calmly and coordinate with relevant personnel for escalation.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, building areas, and perimeter to detect unauthorized access.

As a Security Officer Access Control Specialist in Hueytown, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries. What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, employees, contractors, and visitors while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor registrations, and authorization for entry and exit in accordance with site procedures.
• Control and document visitor, contractor, and delivery access, directing individuals to appropriate locations and maintaining required logs.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, building areas, and the perimeter to help identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control/badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
