Job summary

Allied Universal in Harrisburg, NC is seeking a part-time Security Officer Access Control Service Desk to monitor entry points, verify credentials, and support a welcoming experience for employees and visitors at a logistics and distribution location.

You will use our technology to document activity, respond to alarms, and maintain accurate access-control records, with a focus on safety and customer service. The role requires flexibility for weekend shifts and a customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures and site policies.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and control entry and exit of personnel.
• Maintain access-control records and incident documentation; report concerns to site contacts.
• Respond to incidents calmly following escalation and emergency procedures.
• Conduct regular patrols to deter unauthorized activity.

Pay Rate: $16.50 / Hour

Job Schedule:

• Sat: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM
• Sun: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials, and control entry and exit of employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel in accordance with site procedures.
• Maintain accurate access-control records, visitor logs, and incident documentation; report unusual activity or access concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, loading areas, business operations, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
