Allied Universal® is seeking a part-time Security Officer in Myerstown, PA to support access control at a logistics and distribution site. You will verify credentials, monitor entry points, and provide friendly customer service while maintaining a safe, orderly environment.

Role requires basic computer/tablet proficiency and at least 6 months of security experience. Schedule includes Sat and Sun shifts; strong team orientation is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees according to site access-control procedures.

• Screen vehicles, trailers, and personnel per site procedures to deter loss and support security operations.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and emergencies, notifying contacts or responders as needed.
• Conduct regular patrols of access points, parking areas, docks, and perimeter and document observations.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $18.00 / Hour

1. Security Experience

   • Candidates must possess a minimum of 6 months of relevant security experience (C112). This experience should be verifiable and may include roles in security operations, risk management, or related fields. Candidates are encouraged to provide detailed descriptions of their previous roles and responsibilities during the application process.

2. Technical Proficiency

   • Candidates must demonstrate comfort and proficiency in using a computer or tablet (B204). This includes familiarity with basic software applications, email communication, and internet navigation. Candidates may be required to complete a brief technical assessment as part of the interview process to validate their skills.

• Sun 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, drivers, and employees by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and control access to the logistics and distribution location by verifying credentials, checking in visitors and delivery personnel, and maintaining accurate entry and exit records.
• Screen incoming and outgoing vehicles, trailers, and personnel in accordance with site procedures to help support loss-prevention and security-related operations.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; promptly notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency responders when needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, parking areas, loading docks, and the business perimeter; document observations and report unusual activity.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
