Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer Access Control Patrol in Durham, NC. The role focuses on protecting clients across industries, maintaining a visible security presence, and supporting a welcoming environment.

You will perform routine patrols, monitor access points, and respond to security incidents while delivering excellent customer service. The job requires 1+ year of security experience and a high school diploma, with diverse shifts across days.

Qualifications

• Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors at a technology and data infrastructure location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and reporting procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, perimeter, parking areas, access points, and other assigned areas to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor access control points, verify visitor and contractor authorization, and maintain accurate logs and incident documentation in accordance with site-specific requirements.
• Communicate professionally with site personnel and Allied Universal leadership regarding observed conditions, incidents, and security-related operational needs.
