Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control in Santa Barbara, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer in a residential community, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control activities, and provide courteous assistance to residents and visitors. You will communicate observations and respond to security-related concerns while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, caring, team-oriented, and integrity-driven values.

Pay Rate: $23.00 / Hour

What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or property staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor access to the residential location, verify visitor and vendor entry in accordance with site-specific procedures, and maintain appropriate activity logs.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or emergency services as directed by site procedures.
• Complete accurate reports and communicate observations, incidents, and security-related concerns to property management and Allied Universal supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
