The position is full-time with daytime and overnight shifts; prior security experience and a high school diploma are expected. A valid guard card is preferred, and eligibility for a background check and drug screening is required.

Responsibilities

Job Description

As a Security Officer Access Control in Cape Canaveral, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Access Control Security Officer at a retail location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and provide outstanding customer service to visitors and team members. You will remain visible, communicate professionally, and help address security-related concerns while supporting a welcoming environment. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, employees, and retail tenants by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access points, verify authorized entry credentials, maintain visitor records, and direct guests to appropriate areas.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site-specific procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of retail common areas, entrances, loading areas, parking facilities, and the business perimeter to help identify unusual activity and policy concerns.
• Communicate professionally with mall management, tenants, visitors, and emergency responders while preparing accurate reports of incidents and observations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Experience with access control and badge systems is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
