Allied Universal in Edinburg, TX, is seeking a part-time Security Officer specializing in access control to safeguard a food and beverage manufacturing location. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, maintain logs, and respond calmly to incidents, delivering excellent customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors.

Minimum requirements include at least 18 years old for unarmed roles, a high school diploma, and the ability to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and drivers at a food and beverage manufacturing location by carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and control access to restricted areas in accordance with site requirements.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of access points, facility grounds, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Document daily activities, incidents, and unusual occurrences through accurate reports and communicate relevant information during shift handoffs.
