Job summary

Presbyterian Village North in Dallas, TX is seeking a Security Officer for the 3rd shift on a full-time basis. The role focuses on protecting residents and staff while maintaining a safe environment.

The position requires a guard card, Texas driver’s license and strong communication skills; prior security or building services experience is preferred. Willingness to work weekends and adapt to shift changes is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Guard card and Texas Driver's License required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Must be able to adjust to changes in shift schedule.
• Ability to pass FBI background investigation for licensing by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Bureau.
• Previous security or building services experience preferred.
• Able to communicate with elderly residents, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Models a service attitude towards others and proactively solves problems.
• Friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers.
• Ensure safety of residents, visitors and staff by reporting hazards.
• Patrols grounds by foot, golf cart or car to prevent unauthorized access.
• Coordinates with receptionist and personnel to maintain property safety.
• Responds to 911 calls and escorts emergency responders to the correct building.
• Assists residents who need special care navigating the property.
• Other duties as assigned.

Presbyterian Village North is immediately hiring a Security Officer on 3rd shift.

Shift: Full Time - Flexible for all three, including weekends; but likely will be 3rd shift with 2 Off Days during the week; 9:30 pm - 6:00 pm.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Models a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better
• Is friendly and courteous to residents, patients and co-workers
• Ensure resident/patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
• Patrol grounds via foot, golf cart or car, to ensure no one is on the property without permission
• Stays in contact with receptionist and other personnel to ensure safety of property
• Reacts to 911 calls to meet ambulance or fire department at the front gate and escort them to the appropriate building
• Assists residents who need special care to navigate the property
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED is required
• Guard card and Texas Drivers License is required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
• Must be able to adjust to changes in shift schedule
• Must be capable of passing an FBI background investigation to facilitate licensing by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Bureau
• Previous experience with security/ or other building services required
• Able to communicate with the elderly population, other staff members, and visitors
• Ability to effectively resolve problems
• Ability to gain trust of the resident population
• Ability to react quickly to unknown circumstances and remain calm
• Ability to perform Essential Duties
• Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, special need residents and hospice patients
• Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements
