SECURITY OFFICER 3

Security Officers are dedicated security professionals with a demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team in a fast-paced high-tech environment. They patrol the company’s properties via vehicle and foot and/or ensure security at fixed locations, complying with federal, state, and local laws, as well as company regulations.

Responsibilities:

1. Maintain proficiency and awareness of static guard post duties.
2. Plan and conduct advanced security training for security officers.
3. Conduct research and analysis to support SpaceX security missions.
4. Perform risk assessments of critical facilities.
5. Respond to emergencies and provide leadership on-scene.
6. Coordinate domestic flight hardware transportation operations.
7. Learn advanced skills such as EMT, investigations, surveillance, VIP escort, and security hardware.
8. Act as liaison with law enforcement, community leaders, and stakeholders in the space industry.

Basic Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 8+ years of experience in military, law enforcement, overseas security, or advanced corporate security.
3. 1+ year of experience in executive protection, mobile asset protection, or emergency response teams.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s or higher degree.
2. Military deployment or counterinsurgency experience.
3. Experience with critical incident handling.
4. Medical emergency training (e.g., EMT-B, paramedic).
5. Small unit leadership experience.
6. Strong character and integrity.
7. Excellent communication skills.
8. Conflict de-escalation skills.
9. Experience instructing security tactics and procedures.
10. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
11. Team-oriented mindset.
12. Interest in spaceflight safety and security.

Additional Requirements:

1. Availability for day shifts (5:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
2. Ability to obtain FAA Part 107 Drone license.
3. Possession or eligibility for a Level III Security Officer license.
4. Willingness to work nights, weekends, and rotating schedules.
5. Pre-employment screening, including background, psychological, physical, and drug tests.
6. Ability to stand for extended periods.
7. Willingness to travel up to 15% as needed.
8. Valid driver’s license.
9. Eligibility for U.S. security clearance.
10. Ability to work in extreme outdoor conditions.
11. Compliance with U.S. export regulations regarding citizenship or residency status.
