Harbour Ridge Property Owners Association Inc is seeking a Security Officer for 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.). The role involves patrolling Harbour Ridge properties, controlling entry at gates, and ensuring only authorized individuals have access to the community.

SECURITY OFFICER 2nd SHIFT: 3:00p.m. to 11:00p.m., Tuesday & Wednesday off.This Position is eligible to begin working starting October 1st, 2026.Job Summary: Harbour Ridge Security Officer shall patrol and control access to Harbour Ridge property as assigned to ensure that only authorized persons are permitted access to the community via gated entry, mobile unit, golf cart, or foot patrol. Anticipate, recognize, and reduce security and/or crime risk; initiate action to resolve risk or breach of security. Responsible for performing duties in a professional and lawful manner in compliance with directives. Required to follow the lawful request of any supervisor or superior officer.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:Perform access control duties at assigned gate by utilizing telephone, computer, and other systems to determine that visitors are properly cleared for access, denying access to those who are not cleared.Inquire both verbally and visually any person requesting access to Harbour Ridge to validate their authorized entry. Verify identification of any person claiming to be a resident if face and name is not recognized.Utilize good customer service skills in all encounters with residents, visitors, and guests.Inspect the safety, cleanliness, and preparedness of the gatehouse and assigned patrol vehicle prior to accepting the post from the officer you are relieving.Review all printed materials to ensure awareness of all activities that are occurring or may impact his/her shift and the security of Harbour Ridge.Check their schedule every day they work to ensure they know the shifts they are responsible for.Patrol property and roadways, keeping alert for anything out of the ordinary; respond to both routine calls for assistance and emergency calls of a criminal, medical, or other emergency nature related to safety and security; conduct physical inspections of Harbour Ridge facilities and buildings.Provide traffic enforcement and control of vehicles driving within, or entering and leaving Harbour Ridge in accordance with traffic regulations.Report and investigate any incident that affects the safety and security of persons or property within Harbour Ridge; write any reports or statements that may be required. Reports must be concise, clear, and completed before end of his/her shift.Maintain an accurate and complete log of all gate access and any items placed in your care, such as packages, etc.; Log date, time, and person picking up package to document chain of custody.Notify supervising officer of anything out of the ordinary relating to Harbour Ridge as outlined in department general orders.Render aid and assistance as required or requested.Comply with company and department policy and procedure as established in employee handbook, general orders, department memorandums, and directives from Chain of Command.Class D license required. If license not held at the time of hire, attendance in 40 hour class required to receive license.Job Requirements include the following, but are not limited to:Guide the day-to-day operations of Security in a business-like and ethical manner.Seek to improve self in knowledge and skills.Maintain good working relationship with members, employees, and all customers.Use a clear speaking voice in the English language.Maintain confidentiality of files and other documents.Dress in Security uniform standards.Establish a record of good work attendance and reliability.Have the ability to use the technology in place at Harbour Ridge and show the ability to learn new technology when implemented.Demonstrate flexibility in work habits and work schedule.Must be capable of staying on duty for more than time scheduled to ensure minimum staffing levels are met, but not to exceed 16 hours in total in a 24-hour period.Make effective use of time.Maintain a professional demeanor and an orientation toward customer service.Be available by phone within 3 hours on or off duty and own a phone capable of leaving a message at all times.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to legibly write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups residents, employees, or organizations.Must possess a valid Florida Driver’s License and the ability to meet the requirements of driver insurability as established by the Harbour Ridge insurance carrier.Other duties as assigned by Director of Security & Security.Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilitiesQualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
